Meiosis, Overview

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Meiosis is the nuclear division producing four haploid daughter cells from one diploid parent cell, across two successive divisions after one round of DNA replication.

Show

A diploid germ cell entering meiosis exits as four haploid gametes, each carrying one member of every homologous pair.

Watch for

Meiosis halves chromosome number once, across two divisions, not once per division.
