Prometaphase I

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

In prometaphase I, the nuclear envelope finishes fragmenting and each tetrad's two homologs attach to kinetochore microtubules from opposite spindle poles.

Show

One homolog of a tetrad captures microtubules from one pole while its partner captures microtubules from the opposite pole.

Watch for

Each homolog's two sister chromatids attach to the same pole here — only whole homologs attach to opposite poles.
