Recombination Frequency

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Recombination frequency measures how often crossing over separates two linked alleles onto different chromatids, and it rises as the distance between the two loci increases.

Show

Two loci far apart on the same chromosome recombine more often than loci close together.

Watch for

Two linked loci recombining near fifty percent achieve genuine independent assortment, not merely its appearance, without ever moving to separate chromosomes.
