Bayes' rule computes updated belief from three quantities: how probable the evidence is if the claim holds, the prior, and how probable the evidence is overall.

Posterior equals likelihood times prior, divided by the evidence's total probability — the counting method, compressed to a formula.
Watch for
The count comes first on purpose: whoever owns the counting can rebuild the formula from a napkin.
