The Couplet

The idea
A couplet is two consecutive rhyming lines. The glossary has no headword for it, although the sonnet's closing couplet is one of the most examined features in English verse. Unit nine returns to it, because in a Shakespearean sonnet the couplet carries the argument's turn.
In practice
Two lines, rhymed together.
Where people slip
Unit nine returns to this.
