The idea
Japan attacked Port Arthur in nineteen oh-four and beat Russia; the Treaty of Portsmouth gave Japan Korea and southern Manchuria. In Russia troops fired on petitioners on Bloody Sunday, and Nicholas II conceded a Duma, which met in nineteen oh-six with a tsar-appointed upper house.
