The idea
Trent, fifteen forty-five to sixty-three, debated every Protestant charge and reaffirmed almost all doctrine: works with faith, all seven sacraments, indulgences' legitimacy while banning their sale for cash, the Inquisition strengthened, missions sent. Begun to reconcile, it was won by hardliners.
