Capstone Four: Review and Matrix
The idea
The fourth capstone task, constructed for this course, asks you to validate your Pack with real people and trace one change through a matrix.
In practice
Plan a short review session, even thirty minutes with two people, following the book's order: framing, purpose and definition, fields, lifecycle, a quick card check, and the close. Prepare a one-page summary first. During the session, use at least one technique for surfacing disagreement, such as the red, yellow, green round or the where-would-you-put-this question. Afterwards, record each correction, each new card, and each disagreement you left open, with its owner. Update the Pack and its change log. Then build a matrix for your thing, or for the riskiest thing on your map if your anchor is low-risk, using the standard rows and asking each row's owner. Finally, imagine one realistic change, such as a new rule, a new field or an AI feature, and run the change-impact walk, row by row, into a change plan. Judge the matrix against the Toolbox's checklist and the Gold-thing safety checklist.
Where people slip
If your change triggers nothing in any row, check the matrix before believing it. A real change to an important thing almost always reaches further than the part you changed. In the library's walk, loan periods by item type touched every row but two, including a chatbot and a council export that nobody had linked to the Loan. When you finish, write two sentences: what the review changed in your Pack, and which dependent item your matrix found that you would otherwise have missed. Those two sentences are the evidence that the method worked on your own ground.
