Dressing Types
Captions available
The idea
Dressing types include gauze, nonadherent dressings, petroleum gauze, transparent films, hydrocolloids, foams and alginates.
In practice
Each suits different wounds: foams are absorptive and nonadherent; alginates manage heavy drainage; transparent films let the wound be seen.
Where people slip
The preference card or surgeon names the dressing for each case.
