Tech in Surgery Prep / Unit 11   TSC 268 short lesson, about 20 seconds

Robotic Systems in the Room

Captions available

The idea

Robotic-assisted surgery uses a computer-controlled robot that lets the surgeon make very precise movements.

In practice

The surgeon may operate from a console away from the table, while the bedside team prepares, drapes and manages the robot's arms and instruments.

Where people slip

Robotic cases add equipment and cables to the room, so space, cords and sterile boundaries need extra planning.
