Tech in Surgery Prep / Unit 10 TSC 233 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Imaging for a Missing Item
Captions available
The idea
When a counted item cannot be found, an X-ray is used to check whether it is inside the patient.
In practice
The result is recorded in the patient's record; an X-ray is also taken when a required count could not be done.
Where people slip
Small items without X-ray markers may not show up, so a clear image does not settle every discrepancy.
