The Prime Meridian is zero degrees longitude and passes through Greenwich, England; longitude counts east and west from it. The International Date Line roughly follows one hundred eighty degrees. The equator is zero degrees latitude and divides the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
In practice
Eastern and western hemispheres too.
Where people slip
Roughly, the anchor says; the line is not straight.
