Shang, Zhou, Qin: The Imperial Blueprint
Captions available
The idea
Migrant groups settled China, leaving a written script and schools of thought. The Shang, Zhou and Qin produced the imperial blueprint for an agrarian civilization that later dynasties adopted and modified. The Mandate of Heaven conferred rule and could be lost.
In practice
The Qin emperor's Terracotta Army near Xi'an.
Where people slip
The blueprint, not one dynasty, is the exam's point.
