What Shifts Supply
Captions available
The idea
A shift in supply is a different quantity supplied at every price, from something other than the good's price: input prices, natural conditions, changes in technology, and government taxes, regulations or subsidies. Costlier inputs shift supply left; better technology, right.
In practice
A drought shifting the wheat supply leftward.
Where people slip
Factors of production, or inputs: labor, materials, machinery.
