Psychology / Unit 1   Psych 0039 short lesson, about 20 seconds

Falsifiability

Captions available

The idea

A claim is falsifiable when some possible observation would show it to be false.

In practice

"Rewarded behavior increases in frequency" is falsifiable — a reward followed by less behavior would refute it.

Where people slip

Falsifiable does not mean false. It means the claim has told you in advance what would defeat it.
