The Frontal Lobe
Captions available
The idea
The frontal lobe handles planning, judgment, voluntary movement, and the inhibition of impulses.
In practice
An iron rod through the frontal lobe left Phineas Gage's memory and speech intact and his judgment altered.
Where people slip
The frontal lobe is not the personality. Damage changes regulation, which changes how personality is expressed.
