Two Minutes or Less

The idea
A tourniquet should stay on for two minutes or less.
In practice
Two sources say two minutes or less, and one procedure says one minute before the draw; release it as soon as blood flows, and let the arm rest before reapplying.
Where people slip
A tourniquet left on too long changes the blood sample, so follow your practice's limit.
