What a Chemical Indicator Proves
Captions available
The idea
A color-changed chemical indicator shows that a pack went through a sterilization cycle; it does not prove the contents are sterile.
In practice
An outside indicator confirms that the pack was processed, and an inside indicator shows that the sterilant reached the contents.
Where people slip
If either indicator shows inadequate processing, do not use the item.
