Statements

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A statement is a sentence that is either true or false.

Show

"Springfield is the capital of Illinois" — true. "Chicago is the capital of Illinois" — false. Both are statements.

Watch for

A statement can be false and still be a statement. False ≠ not-a-statement.
