Simple vs. Compound Statements

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A simple statement contains no other statement as a component; a compound statement does.

Show

"It's raining" — simple. "It's raining and the game is off" — compound.

Watch for

"The game is off" inside the compound is still a complete statement. Compounds are built, not blended.
