The idea

The book's Toolbox gives each role a short guide, beginning with a strength, and these steps summarize three of them.

In practice

Step one: the analyst or product owner, whose strength is turning ambiguity into shared understanding, names the primary things of each feature, drafts cards instead of single sentences, and puts card identifiers in stories. Step two: the architect or data modeler, whose strength is structures that outlast projects, labels data model diagrams with thing names and uses matrices as architecture views. Step three: the tester, whose strength is protecting the system from wishful thinking, tags tests by thing and card, designs a case for each constraint, and uses matrices for regression planning. Step four: each of the three supplies AI with definitions first, and reviews what it drafts.

Where people slip

The strengths come first in the book's guides for a reason. Each role already does part of the method's work; the guide shows where that strength meets the documents, so the method feels like a better version of the job.
