Leading AI at Work: Governance, Rollout and Practice / Unit 7 LAI 159 worked example, 60 to 90 seconds
Workshop Morning: Framing, Map, Cards
The idea
The workshop's morning, in the book's agenda, moves from the group's problems to a first map and a first card.
In practice
Step one: open with forty-five minutes of framing: welcome the group, run a problem storm about recent projects that went wrong, and connect the problems to the method in a few slides. Step two: spend seventy-five to ninety minutes on things and zones: a noun storm in small groups, clustering the notes into zones, drawing labelled relationships, and voting on three to seven core things. Step three: spend sixty to seventy-five minutes on first cards: explain the card template with an example, pick one core thing and one behavior, have pairs draft the card, then merge the drafts into one improved card.
Where people slip
The book adds a note for the break that follows: let people breathe, because the morning is intense. A common outcome of the map exercise is the discovery that the group has been using Case in several different ways.
