The idea
Coming-out tasks, recognizing attraction, identifying, a first relationship and disclosure, follow a fairly consistent order, often identification in mid-adolescence and disclosure in emerging adulthood.
In practice
Between seven and fourteen percent of heterosexual college women and about four percent of men reporting a same-sex encounter.
Where people slip
Women report more sexual fluidity, change in attraction over time, than men.
