Values Every Society Shares
Captions available
The idea
Some values are shared by every functioning society — truth-telling, protection of the young, restrictions on killing — because no society survives without them.
In practice
Imagine a village where lying carries no disapproval. Speech stops carrying information, cooperation stops, and the village stops being a village.
