College Composition / Unit 26 CMP 0627 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Author-Date Citation
Captions available
The idea
An APA in-text citation gives the author's last name and the year of publication, plus a page number.
In practice
In parentheses: the name, a comma, the year, a comma, and p or p p with the page.
Where people slip
The year is required in APA citations, unlike MLA, because currency matters in these fields.
