College Composition / Unit 25 CMP 0609 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Two Works by One Author
Captions available
The idea
When you cite two or more works by the same author, add the title, or a short form of it, to tell them apart.
In practice
The citation then gives the author's last name, a comma, the shortened title, and the page number.
Where people slip
Without the title, readers cannot tell which of the author's works you mean.
