The idea
A paragraph often ends with a sentence that sums up its point or shows how the point supports the thesis.
In practice
After evidence about exercise and longevity, a closing sentence might state that people who exercise regularly tend to live longer, healthier lives.
Where people slip
A concluding sentence should not introduce a new point; that belongs in the next paragraph.
