College Composition / Unit 9 CMP 0203 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Capitalization in Titles
Captions available
The idea
In titles and subtitles, capitalize the first and last words and every important word.
In practice
Do not capitalize articles, coordinating conjunctions or prepositions unless they come first or last: "Judas and the Black Messiah."
Where people slip
Some styles, such as APA in its reference list, capitalize titles differently; follow the style your paper uses.
