Dividing by a rational expression means multiplying by its reciprocal; division hands the problem to multiplication.

(x/2) ÷ (x/6) becomes (x/2) · (6/x) = 3 — the x cancels, and 6 over 2 is 3.
Watch for
Reciprocate the divisor only, never the first fraction.
