Rational Expressions

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A rational expression is the quotient of two polynomials; wherever the denominator's value is zero, the expression is undefined.

Show

A print shop's cost per poster is total cost over poster count — (50 + 2x)/x for a 50 setup fee and 2 per poster.

Watch for

The denominator's zeros are excluded, not ignored.

Builds on

  • Nothing — this is a starting point.
