Percent Yield
This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.
State
Percent yield is the actual yield obtained from a reaction divided by its theoretical yield, expressed as a percentage.
Show
A reaction with a theoretical yield of 50.0 g that actually produces 42.5 g has a percent yield of 85.0%.
Watch for
A percent yield above 100% signals a measurement or purity problem, such as leftover solvent, not a reaction that beat its own ceiling.
