Theoretical Yield

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A reaction's theoretical yield is the maximum amount of product calculable from the limiting reactant using the balanced equation's stoichiometry.

Show

Once silicon is identified as the limiting reactant, its full stoichiometric conversion to Si3N4 gives that reaction's theoretical yield.

Watch for

Theoretical yield is a calculated ceiling, not a prediction of what a real reaction will actually produce in a laboratory.
