Entropy Rises with Temperature

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Raising a substance's temperature raises its entropy, since particles access a broader spread of kinetic energies at higher temperature.

Show

Cooking oil at 200 °C has higher entropy than the same oil sample at 110 °C.

Watch for

Treating heating across a phase change as if entropy rose smoothly with temperature alone misses the large, discontinuous jump at the transition itself.
