Dynamic Equilibrium: Equal Rates, Not Equal Concentrations

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Dynamic equilibrium is the state where a reaction's forward and reverse rates are equal, so concentrations stop changing even as both reactions keep occurring.

Show

In a sealed bottle, liquid bromine evaporates and gas bromine condenses at matched rates once equilibrium is reached.

Watch for

Assuming equilibrium is reached the instant reactants and products first mix ignores the time needed for rates to converge.
