Boyle's Law: Volume and Pressure

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

At constant temperature, a fixed amount of gas has volume inversely proportional to its pressure.

Show

Pushing a syringe's plunger halves the trapped gas's volume and doubles its pressure, at constant temperature.

Watch for

Volume and pressure trade off inversely, not directly — squeezing a gas raises its pressure, never lowers it.
