Amontons's Law: Pressure and Temperature

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

At constant volume, a fixed amount of gas has pressure directly proportional to its kelvin temperature.

Show

Heating a sealed, rigid canister raises the gas pressure inside in direct proportion to its kelvin temperature rise.

Watch for

This proportionality holds only for kelvin temperature — doubling a Celsius reading does not double the pressure.
