Prophase

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Prophase is mitosis's first stage: the nuclear envelope begins breaking down, chromosomes condense into visible structures, and spindle microtubules extend from the separating centrosomes.

Show

A newsroom coiling cables and staging cameras before broadcast resembles prophase, visible preparation ahead of the main event.

Watch for

Condensation in prophase is physical coiling for safe movement, not the DNA replication that already happened, in S phase.
