Metaphase

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Metaphase is the stage where every chromosome aligns at the metaphase plate, an equatorial plane midway between the spindle's two poles, with sister chromatids still joined by cohesin.

Show

Armies massing along one line before battle resemble metaphase, every unit aligned at a single formation.

Watch for

Alignment at the plate does not mean the chromatids have separated — cohesin proteins hold each pair together.
