The Cell Cycle: Interphase and the Mitotic Phase

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

The cell cycle runs from one parent cell to two identical daughters, split into interphase, when the cell grows and copies its DNA, and the mitotic phase, when that DNA separates.

Show

A cell spends most of the cycle in interphase, entering the brief mitotic phase once preparation is complete.

Watch for

Interphase is active preparation, not rest — the cell stays biochemically busy throughout.
