The Phosphoinositide Pathway: PIP2 to DAG and IP3
This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.
State
The phosphoinositide pathway converts a membrane phospholipid into two second messengers, diacylglycerol and inositol triphosphate, when a G-protein-linked receptor activates the enzyme phospholipase C.
Watch for
Diacylglycerol and inositol triphosphate come from the same cleavage event but act through separate downstream targets — one at the membrane, one released into the cytoplasm.
