The Nucleolus

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

The nucleolus is a darkly staining region within the nucleus where ribosomal RNA and protein assemble into ribosomal subunits.

Show

Those assembled subunits then pass out through the nuclear envelope's pores into the cytoplasm, where they complete a functioning ribosome.

Watch for

The nucleolus is a region within the nucleus, not a separate membrane-bound organelle of its own.
