Sequence-Tagged Sites

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A sequence-tagged site is a short DNA sequence with a known, unique chromosomal location, used as a landmark for sequence mapping.

Show

An expressed sequence tag from a cDNA library and a single sequence length polymorphism from a known marker are both sequence-tagged sites.

Watch for

A sequence-tagged site is defined by its unique known location, not by any biological function of the sequence itself.
