Raised and Lowered Labels

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A raised label multiplies — b to the d is b as a factor d times — and a lowered label counts siblings, numbered for reference.

Show

Three to the sixteenth is forty-three million; three times sixteen is forty-eight — the raised label dwarfs the product.

Watch for

Subscripts carry no operation at all; they are name tags for siblings too numerous to letter.
