The idea
Italy had joined the Entente for Austrian land and got Trentino, Trieste and Istria, not Fiume or Dalmatia: the mutilated victory. Then came a strike wave, land seizures and a communist movement, and conservatives, the Church, business and the middle class feared revolution.
