The idea
Italian Futurism sang speed, technology and violence. Marinetti's manifesto of nineteen oh-nine praised the love of danger, glorified war as the world's only hygiene, promised to destroy museums and libraries, and declared scorn for woman. A racing car was more beautiful than the Victory of Samothrace.

Most Futurists embraced fascism after the war.
