The idea
The winter of nineteen thirty-two to thirty-three brought famine, worst in Ukraine; the witness estimates three point nine million Ukrainians dead, the Holodomor. The anchor puts collectivization's total at six to ten million. The Five-Year Plans built industry to near parity with the West.
