The idea
Temujin, born about eleven sixty-two, was elected Khan in twelve oh six as Chinggis, universal lord, the anchor's spelling. His sons and grandsons took Persia in twelve twenty-one, Baghdad in twelve fifty-eight, and all China by twelve seventy-nine: the largest land empire in history.
