The Lost ARC / Unit 13 ARC 317 worked example, 60 to 90 seconds
Are You Using the Right Tool?
The idea
The book's diagnostic for its fourth part asks whether a leader is choosing the right tool for each person, rather than a default style.
In practice
Step one: when someone is struggling, do you diagnose and listen before you intervene? Step two: who is one person you should be activating right now, someone who needs an invitation to grow? Step three: who is one person you should be protecting right now, someone overextended who needs a boundary they cannot set alone? Step four: when did you last change your approach because of new information about someone's actual condition? Step five: do you seek feedback on your leadership impact, and act on it?
Where people slip
The book frames these as the bridge between the Activator and the Inhibitor: the same leader needs both tools, and active listening decides which one a person needs.
