The idea
A washer-disinfector is a machine, like a dishwasher, that cleans, disinfects and dries instruments using circulating water and detergents.
In practice
The guideline says hinged instruments are opened fully, instruments are not stacked, and items are taken apart as much as possible before loading.
Where people slip
Cleaning works only where the water reaches, so loading matters.
