The idea
At the time out, the procedure is read directly from the signed consent form, not from memory or the schedule.
In practice
Reading the consent aloud lets the team check the procedure, site and side against what the patient actually agreed to.
Where people slip
If the consent and the schedule disagree, the team stops and resolves it before going further.
